Strawson's philosophy of moral responsibility, current addiction science, and current sentencing law — this book makes the case for something harder than either extreme: not that nothing is anyone's fault, and not that everything is earned, but that most verdicts are a blend of both, and that being honest about the blend is the beginning of real fairness, real humility, and real self-forgiveness. Undeserved does not ask you to stop judging. It asks you to judge with your eyes open.
