Told through free verse, list poems, an erasure poem built from a real denial letter, and a villanelle-adjacent refrain that runs through the whole book, Unbelieved follows three invented people carrying real, researched patterns: the years it takes to be named, the paperwork that treats a body as a case to be proven, the online strangers who believe you before your own doctor does, and the particular guilt of a good day. A prose afterword grounds every real statistic used in the poems by name and source. This is not a cure narrative. It is a book about what changes when someone, finally, agrees with you.
